Keep your premium ranch-raised meat fresh and safe with these expert storage guidelines

Refrigeration

  • Keep fresh meat at 40°F or below
  • Store in the coldest part of your refrigerator
  • Use within 3-5 days of purchase
  • Keep meat in its original packaging until ready to use

Freezing

  • Freeze meat as soon as possible after purchase
  • Use freezer-safe packaging or vacuum seal
  • Label packages with date and contents
  • Ground meat: 3-4 months, Steaks: 6-12 months

Thawing

  • Thaw in refrigerator (safest method)
  • Allow 24 hours for every 5 pounds
  • Never thaw at room temperature
  • Cook immediately after thawing

Food Safety

  • Wash hands before and after handling meat
  • Use separate cutting boards for meat and vegetables
  • Cook to proper internal temperatures
